Custard Pie

Crust:

One cup of flour

One big tablespoon of lard

One small lump of butter

Pinch of salt

one-half teaspoon sugar

One-half teaspoon baking powder and enough hot water to make stiff dough

Roll thin.


Use only one crust.

For Pie:


For each pie take the yolks of three eggs well beaten.


Add one and one-half cups of milk and one-half cup sugar to the beaten eggs.


Mix well and bake in a moderate oven until light brown.

Optional:

Beat the three whites and put on top. Return to oven for a few minutes until light brown.
